SCÉNARIO
Barbaque is a socially relevant and popular comedy centered on a couple of butchers who are struggling both personally and professionally. Through their work, they confront a contemporary moral trend: veganism. However, the film is not intended to be militant. Although Fabrice Eboué critiques extreme forms of activism, his main goal is to portray a comedy that reflects the society we live in, with all its extremes. The subject matter highlights an era of community-based thinking and retreat on various issues, where people feel the need to belong to a group.

FAITES ENTRER L’ACCUSÉ
Fabrice Eboué invited Christophe Hondelatte to play himself as the presenter of the famous show
“It’s always fun to direct seasoned TV hosts… On a TV set, they are very comfortable and things move quickly. On a film set, they are more tense—although it’s essentially the same for them since they are playing themselves. Sometimes this can create issues. Not with Hondelatte. He was very professional. In one afternoon, we had all his scenes wrapped up.”
